about us

We are Rosso - we run your local buses in Rossendale, Bury and Rochdale with routes as far afield as Bolton, Shaw, Blackburn, Burnley and Todmorden.

We’re proud of our history, which can be traced back to 1907 with the municipal bus and tram operations of Haslingden Corporation and Rawtenstall Corporation. The last tram ran in 1932, since when our buses have operated between Accrington and Bacup along the valley.

The two operations merged in 1968 to become the Rossendale Joint Transport before the boroughs themselves combined in 1974.

Although our official company name is Rossendale Transport Limited (a bit of a mouthful) we've been using the Rosso name since 2013.

Since January 2018, we have been part of the Transdev Blazefield family of companies which includes other well know local bus brands like Witchway and Red Express.

We want to make you, our customers, feel valued – because you’re the reason we’re here.

If you have naything to say about the service we provide, please get in  touch with us.
